What a stud

Ew. Don’t you wish your bathroom looked like this? {well, it is the half bath that we don’t use, technically}

It has come a long way. Dustin has gotten a lot done in there over the past few days. He framed a wall {we need to run hot water to this bathroom and needed wall space to do that} and has been working on the electrical. He also decided that he wants to actually use the window that’s in there now too. We were going to just cover it up like it already was. But, we’d like the natural light and as long as it’s gutted, now is the time to do it if we’re serious.

This has also turned into his nemesis. Yesterday, he spent most of the day trying to pull new wire. This would be an easy task, but it wasn’t because he had to find where the wire went. I don’t really get it… but apparently it didn’t go where it should have and was wired to the back of something that doesn’t make sense.

Today, he’s working on plan B and plans to get the light on the ceiling moved over a little and the wiring taken care of and done.

We thought he had about 3 or 4 months until he went back to work, but they called yesterday and want him at the end of March. Good news, but we’re gonna have to get organized and prioritize what we definitely want done before then. The 1/2 bath is definitely numero uno.

Today, we’re also picking out the tile that we want. The DIY Club winnings from December include the exact amount of tile that this room needs!

  2. that dustin! he sure is a hard worker! :)

    I'm so happy that you will be able to get the bathroom done before he goes back to work. At least you have enough notice that you can prioritize!
    hope you're having a great weekend!

  3. some times a shorter time line means that even more will get done (in my experience) because you feel the pressure. hopefully that's the case for you both.
